Building a Thiền (Zen) Sangha in Northern California

Phổ Giác Pagoda (Enlightenment Buddhist Center) is a newly established Buddhist temple located in Novato, about a 30-minute drive north of San Francisco.

The temple is spiritually led by Venerable Sư cô (Bhiksuni) Viên Huệ, a zen master in the Trúc Lâm (Bamboo Forest) school of Thiền (Vietnamese Zen).

We are currently gauging interest in English-language meditation classes & services in the Thiền tradition and building an engaged community of zen practitioners in the Bay Area.

If you are interested in learning zen meditation in the Vietnamese Bamboo Forest tradition & are local enough to drive or carpool to the temple*, please add yourself to the mailing list.

* Depending on interest and people’s locations, we may have a space in the East Bay available to meet at instead
